CE Ahlin Counseling Services, PLLC

Hello! It's wonderful that you are here. I know that finding a therapist can be an overwhelming and sometimes exhausting process. Finding someone that is the right fit can be challenging. You are brave for taking these steps. On this website, you'll find more information about me, my team, and our work. Please explore and send us an email if you have any questions and want to speak further.

Beth Ahlin, MA, LPC, LCPC, PMH-C

First off, when you call me or meet me, I will introduce myself as Beth! CE are my initials that I use professionally but everyone else knows me as Beth. I live in Jerseyville and have for the past 10 years. I enjoy living in Jerseyville because of its small town charm.  I love the bluffs of Alton and the turn of the leaves in the fall.

As a therapist, I specialize in treating Maternal Mental Health and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I work with individuals in all stages of the perinatal process from preconception through postpartum. I have experience in treating those who have suffered loss or infertility challenges. I have experience in working with those who have undergone IVF or other fertility treatments. I also work with those who have experienced birth trauma. I offer support and coaching through breastfeeding and parenting issues.

I take a holistic or “whole body” approach to therapy. I utilize an extensive referral system of other holistic or natural-minded practitioners.Throughout my years as a therapist, I have worked with many different types of couples. I have experience in helping couples navigate issues such as differing communication or conflict resolution styles, trauma issues, affairs, separation/divorce, parenting issues, etc. In addition, I have extensive experience in working with individuals that struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and substance use issues.

Ellie Wessel, BA, Intern

My name is Ellie and I am a masters level intern currently studying at Missouri Baptist University. I received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Missouri Baptist University. Throughout this time, I found a passion for learning and helping others. After graduating with my degree, I continued my education at MBU to obtain a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I will be set to finish my degree in the Spring of 2025. Throughout the past few years, I have become passionate about motherhood; therefore, I am interested in helping mothers during and through their experiences.

Taking the first step towards making a change can be an overwhelming process. Counseling can help you identify parts of your life you want to improve. My ideal client is a teen or young adult coming to face challenges like anxiety or depression, seeking personal growth and coping strategies. I also work well with high level athletes. I have extensive experience in athletics myself and I understand the unigue pressures and stressors athletes face. They value a safe, non-judgmental space for self-expression, someone to listen and help create goals.

By providing an empathetic and open environment I will ensure a safe place to share and learn more about yourself. For the past 4 years, I have been dedicated to supporting children and their families and creating a welcoming environment for them. Now I want to create that open environment for the client to explore their life.

Taylor Rogers, MA, LPC

Hi! My name is Taylor Rogers and I would be honored to join you on your mental health journey. I know that finding the right provider can be an overwhelming and confusing process, so I want to share a little bit about myself, my work, and the clients I vibe best with to see if we will be a good fit.

While I am a generalist (fancy way of saying I work with a wide variety of concerns), I have extensive experience supporting adult clients who are neurodivergent, exploring their identity and values, are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and are processing grief and traumatic experiences.

I understand that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in improving mental health, so I strive to create a warm and inviting space for clients to share their stories. I provide trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally sensitive services that are tailored to each client’s unique needs. I also know that you want and deserve results, so I utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am also certified to provide Cognitive Processing Therapy, which is an effective, evidence-based treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

So, what can you expect from our work together? I believe that you are the expert of your own life experience, so services are always collaborative and focused on creating a life consistent with your own goals and values. To help you achieve these goals, you will learn skills to better understand and manage your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. To ensure that we are on the right path, I will regularly check-in with you to see how you are feeling, what you are needing, and how we can make improvements. You are always in the driver’s seat; I’m just holding the map and helping guide you to where you want to go.

Maslow, Office Receptionist

Maslow was adopted from 5A’s Animal Shelter in Alton, IL in August 2022. He lives at the therapy office as a permanent resident and is always ready for pets and snuggles! He is an older gentleman, being at least 12 years old but his exact age is unknown. Maslow is a dapper gentleman, donning his tuxedo daily and delighting us with his captivating personality.

In his life before the shelter, Maslow lived on the streets for awhile and sustained an injury to one of his front legs. When you meet him, he will likely greet you but don’t be too concerned about the way he walks. He has been cleared by the vet and does not experience pain or discomfort. In fact, Maslow lives an enviable life of ease in his retirement years.
